Welcome
to Prat Long
Whether you require a self-catering holiday, or bed and breakfast for a night or two, and maybe an evening meal, we would like to welcome you to Prat Long, where you can relax and enjoy your surroundings in comfortable accommodation.
Our house is ideally situated for those wishing to explore the medieval fortress villages and towns, with their fascinating Cathar history, around Cordes-sur-Ciel, near Albi, in the Tarn, Tarn and Garonne and Aveyron region of South West France.
The nearby Gaillac vineyards, some of the oldest in France, provide excellent opportunities for wine tasting.
The area has an abundance of birdlife. We have counted at least fifty different species of
birds over the year in our grounds alone. Wild flowers, including snakes head fritillaries, orchids and cowslips are prolific in the spring.
Numerous butterflies and insects can be seen about the gardens and woodlands of Prat Long, and the occasional deer, wild boar, hare and red squirrel make an appearance.
Prat Long is set in the Cerou river valley, and at the edge of the ancient oak Gresigne Forest, which has well marked tracks for walkers and cyclists.
If you like to spend time by a pool, Le Garissou water park is only a couple of kilometres
from Prat Long, and is open for most of the summer. River swimming is possible in the River Viaur, at Laguepie, where the water is tested daily for quality during the summer months.
